The second part is a short chapter addressing the architectural features of domes. From an architectural point of view, why they are used, what key
architectural problems they address, what shapes are seen as more visually pleasing than others, what advantages there are to either high or low rise domes. The restrictions imposed by the material used (e.g. stone blocks) and the method of construction (usually on formwork).
